19th C. Painted Peacock and Jeweled Satin Glass Bowl
A French nineteenth century shaped satin glass bowl with a painted and jeweled peacock. The understated form is embellished with gilding in relief suggesting the appearance of ormolu mounting. The satin glass body is further decorated with a hand rendered peacock on one side and a single rose on the reverse. A fractional painter’s initial and numeral can be found on the underside.
- wear to gilding; minor scratching throughout.
