19th Century Ethiopian Prayer Book with Wood Cover Boards
A 19th century Ethiopian vellum prayer book with a binding and wood cover boards. The book is hand written in Ge’ez, a language used in the liturgical services in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. The vellum pages have each been scored with a pin then written in black with certain words written in red, most likely holy names and religious holidays.
EBTH certifies this item is from the private collection of personal property formerly owned by Dr. Robert H. Schuller.
The bottom two rows of binding are loosening, several pages are torn.
