20th-Century French Style Mahogany Veneered Marble Top Sideboard
A late 20th-century custom made French Louis XVI style gilt-metal mounted mahogany and white marble commode a vantaux with serpentine front. Sits on four heavy brass hairy paw feet with two door construction and working lock with the original key. The two side panels and both doors have flame mahogany veneer. Ornate brass ornamentation adorns the sideboard throughout with foliage motifs and large flora medallions. To the two front legs are figural metal mounts with a bust of Bacchus (Dionysus). A solid piece of white marble finishes the top. On the interior are three drawers with brass knobs and compartments to either side of the central drawers.
