Item Details

A set of six signed watercolor paintings on paper from the series Inf_landscapes by contemporary artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela / New York; b. 1954), created circa 2005. The abstract pieces depict various blotches of bleeding deep violets and blues situated against a white background. Each work is numbered from one to six in the lower left corner; each is signed and dated in graphite to the lower right. All pieces remain unframed.

Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others. He is most well-known for his non-objective abstract paintings that often exhibit a combination of linear delineation and spontaneous fluidity.
