An oil painting on canvas titled Early Spring, Verdugo Hills by listed artist Dana Bartlett (American, 1882-1957). Signed by the artist to the lower right corner of the composition. Presented without glass, and housed in a beveled wood frame with a white distressed finish. Present to the verso, title and artist’s name are placed to the upper stretcher and near to the lower center, a ’Collector’s Art group label to the lower center and a numeric inscription to the lower left corner.
Bartlett was born in Ionia, Michigan and is known for her paintings of landscapes and plein-air depictions of the Southwest and California.
With a vibrant palette, the piece depicts a landscape of green hills in Spring, with an array of flowers and foliage spread over fields, contiguous to trees situated within meadows and distant hills.

- minor discoloration to linen mat; minor abrasion to purposely distressed frame.
