Ancient Sasanian AR Drachm Coin of Khusro II, ca. 591 A.D. Obverse: bust of Khusro facing right, wearing crown surmounted by crescent, all inside double dotted-border, crescents and stars at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. Pahlavi script to the left and right of the king’s portrait within the borders. Reverse: Fire altar with two attendants standing facing, both hands on sword hilts, all inside border. Metal Content: silver. Weight: 3.51 grams. Diameter: 30 mm. Coin is circulated.
