Ancient Sasanian AR Drachm of Khusro II, ca. 591 AD. Obverse: bust of Khusro facing right, wearing crown surmounted by crescent, all inside double dotted-border, crescents and stars at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. Pahlavi script to the left and right of the king’s portrait within the borders. Reverse: Fire altar with two attendants standing facing, both hands on sword hilts, all inside border. Metal Content: silver. Diameter: 31 mm. Weight: 3.67 grams. Coin is circulated.
