Belgian artist Carl Brenders is internationally renown for his wildlife compositions.
Born in 1937, Brenders attended the Fine Arts Academy of Antwerp and the Academy of Fine Arts Berchem. He began his artistic career as an illustrator for Belgian publications which were later picked up for international books. Although he has practiced various media, he prefers his tried and true method of watercolor and gouache to depict nature. Having exhibited across the world, Brenders’ most notable exhibition is the 1997 retrospective Artistry in Nature: The Wildlife Paintings of Carl Brenders which traveled across the United States, starting with the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.
