Jane Steele specializes in rug hooking, combining color, texture and design to create unique and original pieces. She worked mainly with the European textile industry while based in London for twenty-five years. About a decade ago, Steele moved to Nova Scotia where she opened her own design studio, exhibited at various galleries, and sold her work to clients worldwide. Futhermore, she teaches at workshops and was an instructor at the Ontario Annual Conference in Ottawa. One of her designs was selected as the cover for the guide of The Arts and Craft Guild of Nova Scotia. More recently, Steele has been working and splitting her time in both Nova Scotia and Cincinnati, Ohio.
