Before teaching art at the Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, she received the Laverne-Noyes scholarship and majored in art education at the University of Wisconsin. She studied under lithographer Dean Meeker, who inspired her to become an artist. Beach enjoyed exploring a variety of mediums including weaving and became a lifelong member of the Cincinnati Weavers Guild. She also studied metal arts such as welding at Thomas Moore University. In 1952 one of her serigraphs was chosen to be exhibited in the Library of Congress. Her works of art have been exhibited in various institutions nationally.
