Oluwakemi Omowaire was born in Nigeria in 1984. She is a self-taught artist with a degree in psychology. Fascinated with how emotions are revealed through facial expressions, she paints in an expressionistic manner using bold colors and a heavy impasto technique. She was a member of the Society of Nigerian Artists and participated in several exhibitions before moving to the United States in 2014. In 2018, she was a part of two successful art exhibitions in Columbus, Ohio: ’The Art of Nigerian Women: Sisters” at the Columbus Metropolitan Library and “Art at The Hilton” featuring original artworks by African diaspora artists.
