Victorian Renaissance Revival 10K Enamel Ring with Beaded Accents
A Victorian Renaissance revival 10K enamel ring with beaded accents. This ring depicts a gentleman wearing Renaissance period dress with Grisaille enameling. Grisaille is a monochromatic painting technique, very similar to Limoges style painting, where enamel is layered onto a darker background to create the face of this gentleman on a ground of black enamel. The hat the gentleman sports is constructed of gold foil underlay with red enamel over it and his shirt is silver foil under green and blue enameling.
