Influenced by German Expressionism and graffiti elements, Keil is known for his simplified abstractions of traditional art subjects. He studied under Otto Nagel at a young age and developed relationships with other renowned artists such as Joan MirĂ³. As Keil abandoned realism and developed his signature style, he used more vibrant colors rapidly applied with large gestural brushstrokes resembling the abstract style of Picasso.

Condition

- spots of visible peeling and accretions to paint and paper towards the central region of painting; creasing along the edges of paper, most visibly at the lower left corner of painting; peeling to paper at the verso of painting.
