Jacob Pfeiffer was born and raised in rural Romania, interested in drawing and sketching from a young age. His father served in the military during WWII, and following the war Pfeiffer and his mother fled to Austria to reunite with him, later allowing him to feel a kinship with Native Americans, who had also been displaced from their homelands. He emigrated to Cincinnati, Ohio as a teenager, and continued to study art. He won numerous awards for his work, including three Best of Show awards from the National Collectors Society in the Midwest, and his work resides in the permanent collection of the National Center for American Western Art in Kerrville, Texas.
